While Gilmore Girls is best known for cozy fall episodes and second-most for snowy winter episodes, it’s actually set in spring in about 1/3 of its episodes!
These episodes tackle seasonal events like Easter (with smelly eggs), festivals and hay bale mazes, tear-jerking graduations, quirky outdoor weddings, and lots of Stars Hollow blooms–a thousand yellow daisies to be exact.
So, whether you’re taking the Rory Gilmore reading challenge with us to read the books on Gilmore Girls or just getting into this flourishing season in Stars Hollow fashion, get the full list of episodes to rewatch this spring, and the ten best ones I think you should prioritize.

10 Best Spring Episodes of Gilmore Girls That Highlight the Season

Narrowing fifty spring episodes down to ten was a tall order, especially when Gilmore Girls contains so many graduations and weddings– hallmarks of the season! I attempted to focus on the most pivotal of these events, as well as to weave in a few other seasonal goodies, like festivals, and even a sunny vacation.
Season 1, Episode 13: “Concert Interruptus”
While this episode is best known for The Bangles concert, it also features a seasonal subplot inspired by spring cleaning—the Stars Hollow rummage sale. Who can forget Lorelai unknowingly buying the bedazzled sweatshirt of Luke’s ex?
Season 1, Episode 21: “Love, Daisies and Troubadours”
A marriage proposal featuring ten thousand yellow daisies is oh, so deserving of a spot on this list. Well done, Max. Lorelai is certainly one of a kind.
Season 2, Episode 13: “A-Tisket, A-Tasket”
Spring is the season of picnics! Here, Jess buys Rory’s basket at the annual Stars Hollow Picnic Basket Auction, and Lorelai forces Luke to buy her basket. After Kirk buys Sookie’s basket, she and Jackson decide to move in together and get married. Lastly, Lane gets grounded after setting up a secret picnic date with Henry and her basket.
All of these baskets are making me hungry, but I’d obviously buy Sookie’s over-the-top one if I could.
Season 2, Episode 22: “I Can’t Get Started”
We have our first big character wedding! (Because I’d never count those bratty twins at the Inn.) Sookie and Jackson tie the knot outdoors in a stunning, mostly traditional fashion, while Lorelai and Rory serve in the wedding party.
Of course, we also get a really big and bold first kiss between Rory and Jess. The love in the air must have given Rory the courage.
Season 3, Episode 22: “Those Are Strings, Pinocchio”
No graduation on Gilmore Girls is more memorable than Rory’s from Chilton. It’s all about her famous graduation speech, discussing what else?!– books, pop culture, and her mother.
With a line like this, this episode is fitting for Mother’s Day, too:
“But my ultimate inspiration comes from my best friend, the dazzling woman from whom I received my name and my life’s blood, Lorelai Gilmore. My mother never gave me any idea that I couldn’t do whatever I wanted to do or be whomever I wanted to be. “
Season 4, Episode 17: “Girls in Bikinis, Boys Doin’ the Twist”
Nothing goes better with spring than a break! Rory and Paris escape the truly miserable New England weather for Florida, where they relax on the beach and reunite with Madeline and Louise.
Season 4, Episode 21: “Last Week Fights, This Week Tights”
While all of the weddings on Gilmore Girls are special in their own unique ways, the Renaissance theme of Liz and T.J.’s wedding solidified its place on this list. I couldn’t overlook Lorelai’s flower crown or the budding romance between her and Luke.
Season 7, Episode 18: “Hay Bale Maze”
It’s time for Stars Hollow’s Spring Fling Festival, where a hay bale maze cheekily brings Luke and Lorelai together for an honest conversation. Rory and Logan also stroll about town in the mild weather.
Season 7, Episode 22: “Bon Voyage”
This episode always makes me cry as hard as the spring rain falls during it. Rory’s surprise graduation party is nothing short of touching. Who knew the afterparty could be more emotional than the actual matriculation?
This episode, the series finale, also leaves us with hope, which is so symbolic of the season.
A Year in the Life, Episode 2: “Spring”
The Netflix reboot dedicates an entire episode to spring. Here, Lorelai and Emily continue therapy together, fostering the season’s healing in their own lives.
Rory abandons a book proposal while continuing her secret affair with Logan. Emily tries to persuade Luke to franchise his diner, inadvertently revealing Lorelai’s therapy sessions and sparking an argument. Meanwhile, Rory and Paris visit Chilton, and a website that had been courting Rory decides not to hire her. Find threads of spring running throughout and in the background of these storylines!
