Netflix admits Gilmore Girls is a lifestyle. It’s a religion. Yet, it’s still removing the original show from its platform on June 30, 2026.
As a real-life Rory Gilmore who’s run a Rory Gilmore reading challenge to read the Gilmore Girls book list since 2021, I’m just as sad as the legions of outraged fans. There was something about the show being on Netflix for the last 12 years that felt like home.
I also have no doubt that viewership will decrease. Its increase over the past several years has, in my humble opinion, been a good thing. It’s given our reading lives a purpose and keeps classic book reading alive. It also offers a meaningful escape. Fall, quite literally, will not be the same without it.
But fear not, Gilmores! Here’s where we can still watch the show.
Where to Watch Gilmore Girls Right Now

Netflix
A Year in the Life will remain on Netflix until November 24, 2026. (You can also buy it on DVD or rent it on Amazon.)
Hulu
All seven seasons are streaming on Hulu. Bundle it with Disney+! Of note, if you like nostalgic shows like this, you’ll find plenty on Hulu. It’s one of my favorite Friday night activities, besides reading, of course!
Hallmark
It also airs regularly on the Hallmark channel. Set your DVR!
Amazon
Big news: Prime members can stream the series on Amazon beginning July 1, 2026! You may even be able to get a discount by buying the whole series.
AppleTV
You can buy episodes on AppleTV.
YouTube
YouTubers can buy episodes, too.
DVDs
Buy the DVDs or Blu-Ray discs new or used on places like eBay.
